Hadlie (playing with her toys):
"I am a child of God and He has sent me here."
"No you're not, you're a panda."

Out of the Mouths of My Babes
Jett: "Mom, wanna hear how high I can count?"
Me: "Sure Jett."
Jett: "OK, I'm gonna start where I left off so I don't forget any."
Me: "Sounds good."
Jett: "One-zillion-and-four..."
I was not expecting that number! Ha ha!

Moments With Miles
This boy LOVES to be "worn".
He loves to be snuggled tight next to his Mama (or Daddy).
There are times that he will be fussing and nothing I do will make him happy, but as soon as I wrap him up he's happy is as can be!
The same goes for swaddling.
There has been so many times that Miles will be cranky and oh so tired
(which equals crying)
until I get him swaddled up in a blanket, nice and tight.
I swear I don't even get the second flap of the blanket around him before he is looking up and me just smiling away!

Giggles
Miles giggled today for the first time!
It was like music.
Such a beautiful sound.
And it was at nothing!
How am I supposed to get him to do it again?!
I guess I'll just wait until the air around him becomes hilarious again.
Annoyances That I Love
While pacing the floor trying to get my sweet baby to sleep tonight I thought back on my day.
I thought about how I didn't seem to get one second to myself.
I thought about how my kids were constantly needing
my attention,
my cooking abilities,
my referee expertise.
It was exhausting!
I even tried to make myself feel better by sneaking upstairs to savor a piece of cake in silence only to be followed up and tracked down a few seconds later.
I don't know how they found me either!
I was literally hiding in a corner!
As I paced around my room with my newborn in my arms I thought about how annoying it all was.
Then I thought about how lucky I am to be given such "annoyances".
How blessed am I to have children that just want to be with me.
They don't care what we're doing, they just want to be near me.
If I'm trying to shower, they are hanging out in the bathroom telling me about their cereal.
If I am cooking dinner, they have their aprons on and are helping me crack the eggs.
When I sing Miles a lullaby, they hum along with me.
They truly are a gift and I am grateful for their love.
And I will try to remember this all next time I think "all I want is TWO SECONDS!" Ha ha!
